This year, we are proud to announce that members of Providence High School’s Class of 2009 were accepted to Yale, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cal Tech, NYU (5), USC (8), UC Berkeley (4) and UCLA (15), as well as other universities in California and across the nation. Congratulations to the class of 2009 for working hard to attain these great achievements!
Recently recognized by Los Angeles Magazine as one of the top private high schools in Los Angeles County, Providence High School was established in 1955 by the Sisters of Providence with the goal of developing students to their full potential and providing them with an excellent college preparatory education.
Our Catholic tradition is an integral component to inspiring faith-filled leaders. The Religious Studies Department provides opportunities for intellectual growth, personal reflection, prayer and service to the neighbor in need.
Nestled among Walt Disney Studios, NBC and Warner Bros, and located adjacent to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Providence High School boasts unique Focus Programs for students interested in pursuing careers within the media and medical fields.
The 2009-10 school year will bring about an exciting new opportunity for students interested in the dramatic arts. Providence introduces a new “0” period in which students will be taught drama by instructors from DiscoveryOnstage, which is a pre-professional theatre company. Students will learn acting, improv, movement, voice training and more, and will be instructed by working actors and educators. This course meets the Cal State and UC requirement for Visual and Performing Arts.
Additionally, Providence High School offers Advanced Placement courses, a successful athletics program and numerous co-curricular activities.
