‘E.D. Blues’ at El Portal in NoHo June 16 – 18

New musical directed and choreographed by Jeffrey Polk, written and co-directed by Butch Dubarri, pokes fun at erectile dysfunction

In a world where productions of The Vagina Monologues and Menopause the Musical have given women a literal stage to relate to and laugh at themselves, E.D. Blues looks to give both men and women a chance to laugh at a subject that – though widely advertised – is generally considered taboo: erectile dysfunction.

“E.D. Blues,” featuring music and original songs by award-winning songwriters Dalton and Dubarri, is at El Portal Theatre June 16 – 18.

The subject matter, though mature, is neither offensive nor profane. E.D. Blues is about how lives are affected by this unfortunate condition and how our multi-ethnic cast of characters reacts to it – each in their own hilarious way!

The music and original songs by award-winning songwriters Dalton and Dubarri have a wide range of appeal to all types of music lovers. Pop, blues, jazz and R&B set the tone as each memorable number helps to move the story along.

This show is about how men and the women who love them deal with one of nature’s re-occurring dilemmas. It’s about how a little pill can temporarily solve some problems, but that love is the ultimate cure.
