Volunteering Opportunity

Teenagers aged (15 and above) are invited to become volunteers at the Studio City Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library. A training workshop will be given on Saturday, January 15, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The library is located at 12511 Moorpark St. at the corner of Whitsett Ave. A minimum of thirty hours of volunteer work will be expected for those, who join this program. Many schools have a requirement that students must complete a Community Service commitment before one is allowed to graduate. Participation in this library club allows that to happen.

To participate, stop in at the library, complete an application, and take a simple test. Parental approval is needed for any teen to help the library. For further information, call the library at (818) 755-7873 and speak to the Young Adult Librarian.

Financial Aid

Parents and interested teens are invited to attend a free talk on the “Financial Aid Process and How It Affects College Admission” on Thursday, January 27, at the Studio City Branch Library. The presenter of the presentation is a representative of the Princeton Review. The program will begin at 6 p.m. and will adjourn approximately in an hour. It will be given in the meeting room of the Studio City Branch, LA Public Library at 12511 Moorpark St. in Studio City.
