Charity Cocktail Party

The Toluca Lake Lions are holding a charity cocktail party on Saturday, April 30. The charities benefited include Shane’s Inspiration, the Foothill Service Center for the Blind and the District 4L-1 Blind Fishing Trip.

Bicycle Tour

On Saturday, April 2, from 3—7 p.m., hop on a bike and discover what’s in store at dozens of Magnolia Park boutiques and eateries. When participants register at Chandler Bikeway and California Street, they receive a gift and treasure map filled with tempting treats. Plus, there will be bicycle and helmet decorating contests, free bicycle tune-ups, road safety tips and arts and crafts activities. This event is free. Concert Series

On Sunday, April 3, at 3 p.m. the Associates of Brand Library and Art Center will host the second concert in its annual music series. The group performing will be the vocal trio Elemental Harmony. The concert will include selections from old cultures around the world, spiritual selections, early music and original compositions.

This concert will be in the Brand Library Recital Hall. Admission is free and a reception for the artists will follow the concert. Brand Library is located in Northwestern Glendale at 1601

Inside/Out

The Brand Library Art Galleries is pleased to present Inside/Out, an exhibition featuring new work by four Southern California artists who are exploring the dichotomies of the human body, nature and the built environment and private thought and outward expression.

Henna Lessons

Teens are invited to hear Russell Chan, a locally-based instructor in the use of henna. He will talk about henna’s history as a shrub, which – when it becomes a paste has medicinal and therapeutic uses. After introducing the audience to the history of henna, Russell will apply mehndi to some attendees. The dye is temporary in nature – lasting between one week and a month.

The program will be held at the Studio City Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library. It will be on Thursday, March 31, from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. The library is located at 12511 Moorpark St. at the corner of Whitsett Ave. Admission is free. For more information, call (818) 755-7873.

‘Til Death Do Us Part – A Play

‘Til Death Do Us Part: Late Nite Catechism 3 stars everyone’s favorite Sister, Maripat Donovan. ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Late Nite Catechism 3 will begin performances at the Carrie Hamilton Theatre at The Pasadena Playhouse beginning now through April 3. The Carrie Hamilton Theatre is located above The Pasadena Playhouse at 39 South El Molino Ave. in Pasadena. Fly Fishing Class

Sierra Pacific Flyfishers (www.spff.org) 24th annual, 2011 Introduction to Fly Fishing Class is offered free to all members of the community. Classes are held at Reseda High School located at 18230 Kittridge St. in Reseda and include classroom instruction and on-the-water casting pond instruction.
