Charity Cocktail Party
The Toluca Lake Lions are holding a charity cocktail party on Saturday, April 30. The charities benefited include Shane’s Inspiration, the Foothill Service Center for the Blind and the District 4L-1 Blind Fishing Trip.

OJAI 12th Annual Storytelling Festival
The Ojai Storytelling Festival will present its 12th annual celebration featuring seven of the nation’s best known tellers. The festival will be held in downtown Ojai at the Chaparral Grounds located at 414 E. Ojai Ave., May 5-8. Tellers for this year’s festival include Donald Davis, Dan Keding, Regi Carpenter, Jude Narita, Antonio Sacre and Billy Jonas. Attendees enjoy a variety of stories from many lands, including tales of suspense, humor, adventure, traditional folktales and original creations.

The City of Santa Monica presents the Eighth Annual AltBuild Expo and Conference — the largest and most-respected green design and building expo in Southern California for both professionals and the public.

The Eighth Annual AltBuild Expo and Conference will take place on Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The event will be held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium located at 1855 Main St. in Santa Monica.
On Thursday, April 28, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., members of a local youth organization (Venture Crew 201 of the Boy Scouts of America) is hosting a free public seminar, “Lady Beware,” to assist primarily teen girls in getting around Burbank safely.
The topic, presented by the Burbank Police Department, will focus on awareness in the community while going about our every day lives.
“Lady Beware” will be held at the Magnolia Park United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall located at 2828 W. Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank.
