Bea, you are truly an Angel in the City of Angels!
44th Annual Beastly Ball
Councilmember LaBonge attended The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association’s (GLAZA) 44th Annual Beastly Ball at the LA Zoo on Saturday. This event was a grrrrreat success! At the Beastly Ball GLAZA honored animal advocate Heather Mycoskie (owner of TOMS Shoes with husband, Blake Mycoskie) and Tom Mankiewicz, Leadership Award recipient. In keeping with the Zoo’s role as an international leader in the preservation of endangered species and a conservation center for the care and study of wildlife, this year’s Beastly Ball also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Guests had the opportunity to stroll through the Zoo after hours observing its inhabitants, watching animal feedings, chatting with keepers, viewing small animals up close, and enjoying entertainment, dancing, and dining on bountiful fare provided by some of L.A.’s most popular restaurants.
Know Your Watering Days
Over 80% of the LADWP’s water is imported. In response to diminishing supplies due to environmental issues in the delta and local droughts, the City of Los Angeles has adopted several water conserving ordinances. Learn how you can make a difference and conserve water. Find out about what is required to do your part, how you can apply for variances, and access quick facts and tips. Based on your street address number, your watering days are as follows:
ODD: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
EVEN: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays
Run sprinklers 8 minutes maximum per station before 9:00 a.m. and after 4:00 p.m. only. The City of Los Angeles Water Conservation Ordinance limits outdoor watering with sprinklers to three days a week. Run sprinklers with non-conserving nozzles for 8 minutes max per station; 15 minutes for those with conserving nozzles. All outdoor watering is prohibited from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., regardless of the watering day.
Congratulations on this outstanding achievement!
May you receive all the best that life has to offer, Sweetheart – you deserve it!
We love you and are so very proud of you!
