Fourth Annual Children’s Day
Hosted by Fritz Coleman and featuring Radio Disney and ESPN X Games, Children’s Day 2011 kicks off with an All-Valley Parade at 9 a.m. featuring high school bands – and you! Enter the park on a red carpet and begin a magical day of kids’ activities and entertainment featuring Radio Disney performances, ESPN X skateboard clinics, storytelling by Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson and Honorary Mayor of SFV) and celebrity friends, celebrity and sports icons’ autographs for the whole family, arts & crafts, a U.S. Marine Corps armored Humvee, rock climbing, a petting zoo, carnival rides, over forty gourmet food trucks and more! 2011 Family Picnic
You’re personally invited to be a part of the Luther Burbank Middle School picnic. This year their theme/title is “The Family That Plays Together, Stays Together.” They will be hosting Burbank Music Academy and the winners of the Food Network special The Great Food Truck Race — Grill ‘Em All! The event will also include other opportunities for families to “play together” by singing, dancing (a surprise “Flash Mob” by faculty, parents and students) and games including a 20 foot wide inflatable Twister game provided by local Burbank business proprietors Magic Jump Rentals. Family Skate Night
Every Saturday night, Burbank Roller Hockey Rink holds a night where families can come out and skate around — to just have some fun as a family! Admission is $5 for individuals; for the whole family $20, regardless of the number of children. If kids wear their hockey gear, it’s a dollar off. There are lots of skates for kids, but less for adults, so bring your skates if you have ‘em!
