Alumni Pop Show II “Legacy”

Two years ago, in 2007, a group of former students came together to honor the career of their high school choir teacher, Mary Rago. The evening was such a success that students from the past 3 decades are again returning to the stage of John Burroughs High School in Alumni Pop Show II “Legacy,” to celebrate the music and art that she inspired in each one of them.
Burroughs’ highly-acclaimed annual Pop Shows were Mrs. Rago’s idea, beginning 29 years ago. This evening’s performances will reflect the diverse types of music and entertainment that the JBHS Pop Show is famous for, by alumni from the 1980’s, 1990’s and 2000’s. It will feature solo performances, acapella groups, duets, full choirs and the amazing Alumni Dance Ensemble. The alumni, who consist of both professional and amateur performers along with current college students, will be sharing with everyone where their musical talents, nurtured in the JBHS choir room, have led them. The evening will have everything from pop to rock to gospel to classical opera, showing the amazingly different paths that can come out of this amazing music program.
There will be only one performance of Alumni Pop Show II-“Legacy” on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 7pm in the John Burroughs High School Auditorium, 1920 W. Clark Avenue, Burbank CA 9106.
