Providence Names its First Chief Medical Information Officer
Recognizing the intertwining roles of medicine and technology, Providence Health & Services, California, has named its first chief medical information officer, Dr. Peter Spitzer, a leader in the development, implementation and effective use of information technology in healthcare.
“This is an important step for Providence as we aim to keep up on the latest technology to improve our patient care through the best possible record keeping, data collection and information systems,” said Dr. Myron Berdischewsky, chief medical officer for the nonprofit organization’s California region.
The OC Fair Supersizes With An Extra Week In 2009
OC Super Fair invites fair-goers to “Think Big” for 2009 with the addition of an extra week, giving Fair-goers five weeks to enjoy the fun for the very first time. The 2009 OC ‘Super Fair’ will run from Friday, July 10 – Sunday, August 9. On opening day of the Fair, Friday, July 10, there will be free admission and parking for all attendees during the opening hour, from noon to 1 p.m.
Making its debut at the 2009 OC Super Fair will be “Al’s Brain – 3-D Journey through the Human Brain” with ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic. A peek into the crazy world of Al’s Brain, the exhibit features educational displays and an original 10-minute 3-D film written by, directed by and starring Weird Al. The attraction will be free with admission to the Fair and open to visitors during all operating hours throughout the Fair’s full run. This is the first time an attraction of this size and magnitude has been produced by a fair for a fair.
This year the OC Fair will also offer its first ever season pass called “Super Pass.” For $25 (adult price), guests who can’t get enough of the Fair can visit every day of the five week run. The Fair is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
The Action Sports Arena is back with Tribute Bands, the Maloof Money Cup skateboarding competition, Demolition Derby, Bull-riding and much more. All acts, excluding Maloof Money Cup, are free with Fair admission.
The Summer Concert Series at Pacific Amphitheatre at the 2009 OC Super Fair is geared to provide a premier concert experience at a fan-friendly ticket price and, as always, concert tickets include Fair admission. Headline acts include Kelly Clarkson, Heart, Rick Springfield and Duran Duran, with more to be announced.

Open Call Model Search
