“Magnificent!” “Breathtaking!” and “Extravagant!” are just some of the responses from critics across the country as the ground-breaking production of Ballroom With A Twist makes its way to the West Coast for the Los Angeles premiere. This highly anticipated production will include rotating celebrity hosts such as Jane Seymour scheduled for February 4,5 and 6. The true stars, however, of this show are the wildly popular top performers from the hit shows Dancing With the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance. Pushing the boundaries of ballroom dance, they triumphantly take the stage to showcase their sultry moves, infusing them with the energy and intensity of the latest “hip-hop” styles. One can see the skill of the dancers as they toss off a tango one minute and a jive the next.
Not only is this engagement the only production in existence to offer America’s favorite dance stars together on one stage, but for fans that are lucky enough to garner a VIP ticket, it’s the chance to meet and greet the dance icons themselves after the show. Ballroom also boasts an amazing ensemble that includes dancers from High School Musical The Movie and Dance Your Ass Off, as well as the Dancing With The Stars dance pros such as Edyta Sliwinska, Alec Mazo, Jonathan Roberts and Anna Trebunskaya, So You Think You Can Dance stars Randi Lynn Evans and Jonathan Platero and this year’s all star Ade Obayomi. Providing exciting live vocals are American Idol finalists from season seven, David Hernandez, and season six, Gina Glocksen. Ballroom with a Twist is a brilliant evening of entertainment for the entire family, highlighted by stunning costumes, magnificent music and breathtaking performances.
Conceived and choreographed by EMMY Award nominated Louis van Amstel, a five-time Dancing With the Stars pro, who remarks “They’re young, they’re hot, they’re in the best shape of their lives.” Van Amstel clearly knows how to get people to move but also wants to move the audience.
“What I want people to take home with them is that they’re being touched, that they’re being moved by something beautiful,” he said. “We also have a little surprise for the audience. “
