Let’s Dance at Arthur Murray Dance Studios
Arthur Murray Dance Studios have been teaching the world to dance for 99 years, and over 60 years in Glendale Ca. Glendale’s current Arthur Murray Dance Studio manager and franchisee, Eva Mikos has been teaching residents of Glendale and the nearby areas for the past 21 years.
There are about 300 Arthur Murray Dance Studios scattered around the world, and there is never a shortage of student testimonials covering all aspects of life. People walking into our studios thinking they will only learn how to do a “Box Step” to a Samba, are astonished to discover all the other benefits they will gain through their dance lessons.
The best reason to give dancing a try is that its health benefits are amazing. Several doctors and nurses have come to the Glendale studio over the years, and they all claim that dancing is a wonderful way to relieve stress. Others have used their lessons as a form of exercise, and others completely transform themselves through weight loss.
In an article titled “Boogie People” in the Toronto Sun on Sept. 17, 2010, Dr. Chelly Silva, a family physician, started ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray’s two years before. “I was looking for an exercise that I would enjoy that was good for my hearth. It’s also excellent for your heart, your muscles and your lungs. I tell my patients to just go out and dance!”
Vancouver’s Dr. Susan Biali says dancing tones the body without you even realizing that you’re exercising. “It’s a great cardiovascular workout that simultaneously firms and strengthens your core and other muscle groups.” Dance builds self esteem, she adds, and brings people together. “There’s a direct and strong relationship between the number of social contacts in your life and your health.”
With summer already here, the Glendale Arthur Murray Dance Studio has been busy with children’s group classes (ages 6 to 17), teaching the latest dances for the cruise vacationers, helping wedding couples prepare their first dance, working on beautiful routines to be danced at an upcoming showcase, and making plans to open the studio to the public for a Ballroom Dance Party on the second Saturday of every month starting in July.
