The 3 Faces of the King: An American Legend Offers Elvis’ Rock’n’Roll History as It Was Meant to Be Seen

Cody Slaughter will perform the unforgettable songs from the King’s early years.

Elvis is in the building at NoHo’s historic El Portal Theatre, July 12 to 15, thanks to the exciting 3 Faces of the King: An American Legend. The show that has toured the world to standing room only crowds and rave reviews celebrates the music of Elvis Presley, presenting 35 of his greatest hits. And not one, but two great performers will take center stage to take the audience through Elvis’ life as the undisputed King of rock’n’roll.

What makes this concert show extra special, and more realistic than any other, is that 3 Faces of the King will star Shawn Klush, who has been dubbed the “Ultimate Elvis” international winner by Elvis Presley Enterprises. Klush embodies the showmanship quality that electrified audiences during the ’70s Vegas years. And Cody Slaughter, who has received raves for his performance as Elvis in Broadway’s Million Dollar Quartet, will also star and perform the unforgettable songs from the King’s early years in the ’50s. Cody also will recreate the comeback special that captured the nation in the ’60s.

It is a must-see show if you enjoy the music of Elvis Presley, because this is as close to the King as you are ever going to see live. From his groundbreaking early years to the iconic Vegas concerts.

It’s not an “impersonation” of Elvis, as much as capturing the spirit of the King and his music. And capture it does thanks to the creativity of producer Ron Kurtz, who knows how to showcase the King.

Elvis’ back up vocalists, the Sweet Inspirations, are featured

“If you’re going to be entertained by the music, you want it reproduced the way you heard it when you were younger. And the only way you get that is with a younger performer who has studied and replicated that special sound that made Elvis famous. And then as the music and the artist matured, you need someone who personifies the Elvis who wowed the crowds in Vegas,” Kurtz says.

The reason Kurtz originally conceived this show was to feature two artists “because I always thought it was silly to have a 20-year-old in the Vegas jumpsuit, and for a guy who’s sixty pretending to be young Elvis. So there has to be two stars who have a respect for the artist and bring their spirit to the performance, recreating the essence of Elvis.”

Adding to the extraordinary authenticity, Elvis’ back up vocalists, the Sweet Inspirations, are featured. The Sweet Inspirations performed for all of his live shows and on Elvis Presley recordings. The show is musically directed and backed by the Elvis Ambassador Band featuring the Tennessee Horns.
