By Jon Konjoyan
Where can your kids have fun where it’s safe, clean, friendly, and close-by? Try the award-winning Jungle Zone or “The Zone Club,” as it’s also known, right off the 134 freeway in family-friendlyGlendale. Oscar De La Hoya’s been there — just one of manyHollywoodcelebrities who seek a safe, secure environment for a private party or just a few hours of stress-relieving arcade-style fun. And you don’t have to be a star (or a kid) to play laser tag!
For those new to the game, here’s a taste: strap on a vest and step into the darkened jungle-themed labyrinth. Teammates vanish down fog-filled passageways. You’re all alone creeping up an onramp … suddenly you sense movement. Vest lights flash. You score! Adrenaline pumps and propels you forward. Lasers pierce the blackness as sirens ricochet through the maze. Thoughts disintegrate. You stop watching and breathe it in. You feel it. You become the game!
The Zone’s equipment is the state-of-the-art NexusFEC system with “True Color” LED technology guaranteeing an unparalleled “wow” factor. The Club also features plenty of free parking, a scrumptious food court with pizza, sandwiches, salads, and even an espresso bar. There are private party rooms available and The Zone provides all the party set-up (including decorations and refreshments) and clean up.
Managed by Violet Guiragos, The Zone prides itself in running a family-oriented business with integrity and goodwill. “The staff enjoy meeting new people and working in a fun, comfortable environment that provides entertainment for the whole family,” she says.
