Why spend time in a crowded gym waiting for a machine when you can dance across a spacious air-conditioned ballroom floor in the company of new friends?
Dancing is an effective, low-impact form of exercise that stren-gthens the muscular and cardiovascular systems, reduces stress, improves circulation, helps you stay trim and provides a great way to meet people and celebrate special events. Glendale’s Arthur Murray Franchised Dance Studio offers a full range of dance classes and events for fitness and fun.
The Arthur Murray organization has been teaching the world to dance since 1912 with over 300 schools worldwide. The Glendale studio was first established in March of 1957, and moved to its current location in January 1990, and is managed by it current owner Eva Mikos. The Arthur Murray Studio is the oldest, continuously-operating, licensed business on Brand Blvd.
The Arthur Murray method of teaching has passed the test of time. Today, through a balance of instruction, Arthur Murray’s will have you dancing in no time, even after your first lesson.
Arthur Murray’s teaches everything from traditional Ballroom to Latin, Country Western to Lindy Hop and the latest nightclub dances. The studio welcomes and works with people of all ages, couples and singles and from all walks of life, covering every occasion imaginable from Quinceañeras to weddings, cruises to company dances, reunions to competitions and hobbies, and more. Wedding couples should start working on their first dance as quickly as possible.
Don’t Sit Out On The Good Times!
Bernie sure didn’t. Bernie’s wife had passed away two years earlier, and his neighbor Vicki Wenche, a well-known and prominent dance judge with Arthur Murray International, encouraged Bernie to start lessons at the Glendale Arthur Murray studio. Vicki wasn’t sure if Bernie, age 78, would continue beyond the basics but at least he was out of the house, for now…
One and a half years later, Bernie had become a very popular and wonderful social dancer, and requested help with a recommendation letter to be a dance host on Norwegian cruise lines. At age 80, he was a dance host for one year, met a new sweetheart and traveled worldwide.
Over the years, Arthur Murray schools have gathered thousands upon thousands of human interest stories such as Bernie’s. It all starts with that first lesson. Call the studio, and request a complimentary private lesson. Allow the professionals to help you get started.
The public is welcome to attend an upcoming Open House party on Friday, June 26, from 8:30-10pm., and a showcase Sunday, July 26 from 2-8pm. Reservations are needed for the showcase, just call the studio.
