Building a new home or remodeling an existing one can be a challenge, as anyone who has done it can attest. Coordinating the various tradesmen, dealing with delays and shortages, and attempting to predict the weather are enough to give one a headache that lasts until the job is complete.
That’s why it’s nice for homeowners and contractors to know that when it comes to doors and windows, they can rely on a company that never fails to satisfy: Door & Window Gallery, Inc. in Burbank.
Owner Gayle Richardson prides herself in going the extra mile for her customers. “I want to be valuable to the contractors,” she says. She does this by being available to their clients, knowing the building codes, and generally making sure they get what they need.
“I’ve been known to bring a single set of hinges to somebody who needs them.” She says she enjoys being a part of the contractor’s team. “When the contractor is successful, I’m successful.
“We don’t just make sales,” she says, “We also build relationships with our clients. We are in a partnership with the contractors for the benefit of the customer.
“We’re unique because we have a full size showroom where you’re greeted at the door. Our sales team has over 35 years of experience making it almost effortless to decide the right product for your home. We have full-size displays – not just little 2-by-4 ft. miniatures — so you can really see how the windows or doors would look in your home. And we have brochures and website referrals you can look at in your spare time.
Construction is a passion for Gayle. Being the daughter of a contractor, Gayle began going to jobsites when she was 8 years old. She didn’t get much encouragement from her father, though. He believed that women had no place in the construction business. That didn’t stop his daughter, who went on to learn the business inside and out. It’s a business she loves.
“We go to the customer and find out what is needed and make suggestions. We sell products from many different vendors from all wooden windows to fiberglass, vinyl, and wood with aluminum-clad. It all depends on the needs of the customer.”
She also makes it clear that she carries only quality products. The majority are national brands, but she also deals with small mills and can have windows or doors made custom to the client needs.
Fitting your home with the right product is a responsibility that she takes seriously and thoroughly enjoys. “I love to see a slab of concrete become a beautiful home.”
