“Professional, honest and experienced” are words you hope will describe your contractor. Those words do apply to Mario and Marisela Arechiga of New Generation Home Improvements. They call themselves “Masters of Renovation” and strive to exceed their clients’ expectations. They say, “We help get clients from ‘I wish’ to ‘I love.’ ”
This husband and wife team started New Generation in 2009, during the economic crisis. They have been building ever since. As business manager Marisela Arechiga says, “We deliver a great product based on great principles.”
One principle is educating potential clients on what to look for and how to ask the right questions when considering a contractor for a home renovation. Marisela provides prospective customers with resources to research who is most qualified for the job.
She speaks passionately about their goals. “The industry is still in the wild, wild West, in some ways. If only good companies are hired, the bad ones will disappear.”
Having a great reputation, the Arechigas are unafraid of scrutiny. “We simply do what you hire us for, plus a little more. Your home is an intimate place. When you invite strangers in to renovate, you need to know they are working to your benefit.”
Who can argue with that?
Mario believes in active communication on any project he undertakes. “There are constant innovations and trends to stay aware of. I am always learning. For instance, we are much more conscious now of using ‘green’ materials to respect the footprint our work leaves on the environment.”
Paying his way through school by working in construction, Mario gained a depth of practical experience in addition to his degree in Construction Engineering from CSULB. A decade at various commercial construction companies prepared him to start New Generation Home Improvements with Marisela. They offer a full suite of renovation and maintenance contracts.
Mario has technical know-how and an eye for how the home should look and feel. “Mario appreciates art, design and style so the finished project can be as seamless as possible to the rest of your home. He doesn’t cut corners,” says Marisela.
Marisela graduated from UCSB and pursued varied experience in project management and customer service, where she shines. New Generation “applies excellent business practices that respect the homeowner while delivering a quality custom product,” she says.
Marisela’s and Mario’s strengths complement each other’s. “We bring the homeowner’s vision to completion by treating each project like it was our own,” says Marisela. “Having a detail-oriented, man and woman team ensures a well-rounded perspective to the process and successful completion of the project,” adding, “We love what we do.”
