Come to the NoHo Arts District the first Thursday of every month for Hear NoHo, and join the local arts community in celebrating the talents of emerging musical artists. Businesses throughout the NoHo Arts District participate by hosting events, extending business hours, offering discounts and specials to those attending, and by donating their time and services, thus making Hear NoHo a true grass-roots, community event.
The next Hear NoHo will be held Thursday, June 4th, from 7-11pm in businesses throughout the NoHo Arts District. Featured Artists will include: Soul Puppet, His Orchestra and Bob Holman, legendary founder of the Bowery Poetry Club, along with many more!
Soul Puppet: Influenced by early American Roots music and a love of 60’s rock ‘n’ roll, Los Angeles-based Soul Puppet makes music on their own terms. (www.myspace.com/soulpuppet)
His Orchestra: Formed in December of 2006, His Orchestra has been growing steadily in size, now playing with up to seven members. (www.myspace.com/hisorchestramusic)
Bob Holman: Having been dubbed a member of the “Poetry Pantheon” (New York Times Magazine), crowned the “Ringmaster of the Spoken Word” (New York Daily News) and “Poetry Czar” (Village Voice), we are honored to have Bob Holman participate in this month’s Hear NoHo. (www.bobholman.com)
Previous Hear NoHo events have included performances by Carney, Jessie Payo and Caitlin Crosby, to name a few. Attendees have included arranger/composer David Campbell, Lisa Origliasso of The Veronicas (who took a day off of her US tour to visit) and even Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. So don’t miss the next Hear NoHo!
