Film Festival officially kicks off at AMC 16 Theatres Burbank with Opening Night screening of ‘The List’ followed by Gala Reception
On Wednesday, September 6 the Burbank International Film Festival opens with the World Premiere screening of The List followed by the Opening Night Reception at Market City Caffe. Tickets are $60 and include the screening and red carpet reception with delicious Italian cuisine and cocktails. Dress to impress.

Thursday, September 7 boasts a slate of Comedy/New Media short films and feature films Limelight & Brand New Old Love, followed by a mix and mingle block party in downtown Burbank at Story Tavern, Wokcano and Gordon Biersch.
Friday, September 8 offers a night of dramatic shorts and feature films including The Last Smile and Garlic & Gunpowder followed by the amazing After-Party at the 6,000 sq. ft. IATSE 80 Sound Stage.
Saturday, September 9 is the family-friendly day of programming with student films, animation, faith-based, films by women and feature films Over the Rhine and Lifehack.
Saturday night is the annual Night of Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror and will feature a slate of genre short films with a special 20th Anniversary screening of the sci-fi/action/adventure Starship Troopers courtesy of Sony Pictures. Cast and crew members appearing in-person for the Q&A include Casper Van Dien, Denise Richards and screenwriter Ed Neumeier. This screening will begin with the trailer for the new Sony feature film Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars to be released in mid-September (with free t-shirts for attendees). Other genre screenings include the sci-fi thriller The Landing and the fan series Star Trek Continues (free to the public), followed by the Galactic After-Party which features the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future for photo ops, DJ, dancing and special live performances. This party is not to be missed!
Sunday, September 10 features foreign films and documentaries. Special screenings include Uma, Fallen, Eyes of the Roshi and the documentary Rod Taylor: Pulling No Punches about the iconic actor who starred in such classics as Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds and the sci-fi classic The Time Machine. Following the screening will be a Q&A with his co-stars from The Birds, Tippi Hedren and Veronica Cartwright, who will also be honored that evening at the Closing Night Awards Gala at the Burbank Marriott Airport Hotel.
Other Honorees include Fritz Coleman who will be receiving the Garry Marshall Spirit Award and famed Emmy and Academy Award-winning makeup artist Michael Westmore. 2017 marks the Westmore family’s 100 year anniversary in Hollywood.
