Come on out for a night of 80’s music, dancing, dinner and a live performance of Footloose at one of the area’s most well-known theatres, Glendale Centre Theatre.
On August 1st at 6pm, Glendale Centre Theatre will host a BBQ dinner, provided by Damon’s Restaurant, outside the theatre with 80’s music, a live DJ and a dance floor followed by a live performance of Footloose inside the theatre at 8pm. The entire package is only $35—what a deal for dinner and a live show!
Based on the 1984 film of the same name, Footloose is the story of a young man from Chicago (Ren) forced to move with his mother to a puritanical, small town after his father abandons the family. To Ren’s shock, dancing and rock ‘n’ roll have been forbidden by local religious leader, Reverend Shaw Moore. Through tenacity and with the help of the Reverend’s rebellious daughter, Ren tries to convince the town’s elders to let the teens dance again.
Footloose opens July 16th running till August 29th. As part of their opening night celebrations, all soft drinks will be complementary that evening. GCT will also be announcing their 2010 season!
As the longest continuously-running “centre staged” theatre in the country, the GCT continues to provide innovative and exciting performances while expanding its resources and services to accommodate the needs of their patrons. Best of all, when you see a show at the Glendale Centre Theatre, you really see the show. Up close and personal. The intimate, arena-style setting of the theatre literally wraps you in the experience, making you part of the action.
