Bring Your Father to Maximilian’s Restaurant

Chef Laszlo Bossanyi fondly recalls how, at a young age, his father taught him to make the perfect grilled pork chop. This love for cooking and attention to detail is to our benefit, and the Southern California Restaurant Writers agrees, recently honoring Maximilian’s Restaurant with its prestigious Four Star Award, which signifies excellence in every aspect of a restaurant, including food, service and ambience.

Even a casual visit will illustrate that this award has been earned with style and pride. The restaurant is housed in an elegant garden, with a lush landscape, boughs strung with lights, and a burbling fountain to relax the guests.

Another option is to dine in the charming, cozy house alongside the garden, which has a bar, kitchen and white tablecloths, the tables a civilized distance apart from one another. One might start a dinner at the bar, sipping an Austrian Gruner Veltiner, or a Hungarian Furmint. It is a touch of Mittel Europa in North Hollywood.

This Sunday, June 19, Maximilian’s Restaurant will be having a Father’s Day Feast from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Specials include Spicy Jumbo Shrimp, Chop Festival (Pork, Lamb and Veal) and Wild Salmon. There will also be Draft Beer and Wine Tasting. Before the Father’s Day festivities, join Chef Laszlo on Friday, June 17, for a wine tasting and dinner, sponsored by Fess Parker Winery.

Maximilian’s Garden is located at 1330 Weddington St. in the NoHo Arts District. For information or reservations, call (818) 760-1300.
