DOWNTOWN BURBANK — Adam Carolla, Whitney Cummings, Jim Jefferies, Chris D’Elia, Jeff Garlin, Wendy Liebman, and more than 200 emerging comedians from across the country will take center stage at the Burbank Comedy Festival, Sunday, August 17th through Saturday, August 23rd.
Hosted by Flappers Comedy Club and Restaurant, the Burbank Comedy Festival will be packed with more than 50 special events, including live stand-up comedy, underground showcases, workshops, after parties, live festival podcasts, and chances to schmooze with top Hollywood comedy agents from ICM Partners, The Gersh Agency, and Innovative Artists.
The festival kicks off in the Main Room with Jeff Garlin (The Goldbergs, Curb Your Enthusiasm) presenting a mix of celebrity comedians and rising stars, Sunday, August 17th at 7pm.
Subsequent shows include Comics without Borders with Dat Phan (Original Winner of Last Comic Standing) presenting a line-up of international comedians; Adam Carolla Show Live Podcast and Comedians Comedian Award, with a live taping of Carolla’s wildly popular podcast followed by the Burbank Comedy Festival’s “Comedian’s Comedian Award,” Tuesday, August 19th at 8pm; Ladies of Laughter, with comedy legend Wendy Liebman (America’s Got Talent) leading an all-female line-up, Wednesday, August 20th at 8pm; the Fruit Cocktail Showcase with Jen Kober (Curb Your Enthusiasm) presenting new and emerging LGBT comedians at 10pm, and the Best of The Fest with George Gray (The Price Is Right) presenting comedians who have been hand-picked by headliners and producers as “The Best Of The Fest,” Saturday, August 23rd at 9pm.
Performances in the The YooHoo Room offer a more intimate New York underground club vibe. Shows include Occupy Burbank with Jimmy Dore (Comedy Central) presenting the festival’s most fiercely funny and outspoken political comedians, Monday, August 18 at 9:30pm; TMZ Comedians and Friends with Rick Mitchell and other comedians and writers from the hit Celeb-gossip show TMZ, Wednesday, August 20th at 7:30pm; Flappers Favorites with alums from Flappers University (FU, where learning is a joke) at 9:30pm, and Senior Sillies featuring youth-challenged comedians performing in a show that promises that you’ll be out in time for your favorite TV Land re-runs, Thursday, August 21 at 7:30pm.
The Burbank Comedy Festival is dedicated to discovering America’s next comedy superstar. By pairing emerging comedians with established headliners, the Burbank Comedy Festival intends to give the next generation of talent the opportunity to perform and connect with top entertainment professionals, to encourage live comedy, and do some funny business.
