A popular TV personality and New Orleans celebrity chef is about to launch a new series on the Cooking Channel. He chose Lawry’s picturesque Tam O’Shanter Inn on Los Feliz Boulevard as his premiere location camera visit. He tasted and tested Tam specialties and did a cooking demonstration in the kitchen with Lawry’s Corporative Executive Chef Ryan O’Melveny Wilson, who is currently developing a fresh spin on American food.
The Tam, nearing 90 years in operation, is offering an April special complete dinner, $89 for two. The feast commences with a tuna salad or soup of the day followed by the main course of an 8 oz. cut of Prime Ribs of Beef with mashed potatoes, traditional Yorkshire pudding, creamed corn or outstanding creamed spinach.
Fresh Salmon is the April alternative entrée.
Dinner is served with a bottle of Tam Private Label Wine or two well drinks.
Dessert is a choice of Petit English Trifle or a small CC Brown’s Sundae with coffee or tea.
The above is offered in addition to the Tam’s regular menu.
New at the Tam’s bar is its 12 line, state of the art draft beer system, featuring Guinness plus 11 other premium labels.
Thinking ahead to May, the Tam O’Shanter is always a sell out. This year moms can register to win a $100 Burke Williams Spa gift certificate.
A final note on the timeless Tam. No more dining room service at lunch. Midday service is now limited to the casual carvery adjoining the bar where they slice tender meat cus onyo delicious sandwich rolls. Give it a try.
