Laura Tate, a smooth and sultry Texas-based singer with an international following, is back at Upstairs at Vitello’s Supper Club in Studio City on Thursday, October 25 at 7:30pm in an encore to her standout performance there earlier this spring.

Tate’s eclectic taste in music has resulted in four albums and 15 accompanying music videos in the last five years. L.A. music critic Bob Leggett said of Let’s Just Be Real, her most recent album: “…one of the best releases of this year and a worthy addition to your music collection.”

For this engagement, she will be backed by world-class L.A. musicians Terry Wilson, Doug Hamblin, Tony Braunagel, Jeff Paris, Lee Thornberg, Joe Sublett, Darrell Leonard and vocalist Teresa James who have also performed with notables Bonnie Raitt, Etta James, Keb Mo and Eric Burdon, among others.

As an additional treat, Tate will also be joined by her longtime friend, veteran actress-comedienne Mariann Aalda, as her saucy stand-up comedy opener. As young actresses in New York, the two dreamt of one day working together. Now that dream is coming true.

“It’s the right time,” says Tate, who is also an accomplished actress with an MFA in Theatre from the University of Texas at El Paso.  “Women are coming to the forefront with a richness of stories to be told and Mariann and I have some great escapades to share.”

“You’re going to have to wait for the mini-series for most of ‘em,” quips Aalda, “and watch it once the kids have gone to bed!”

Tickets are available in advance at starting at $20 ($30 at the door) with a $20 food/drink minimum. Vitello’s is located at 4349 Tujunga Ave. in Studio City. The Upstairs Supper Club opens at 6:30pm with the show at 7:30pm. Valet parking is available for $6. Visit to learn more about Tate and to learn more about Aalda.
