The Broadway smash musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert will be strutting around the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for three weeks, until June 16.
The show is fun and outrageous, telling an uplifting story of three friends on the road trip of a lifetime. Wade McCollum (Tick/ Mitzi), Bryan West (Adam/Felicia), and Scott Willis (Bernadette) star as the trio of divinely dressed divas who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship. In the middle of the Australian outback they, along with Joe Hart as Bob, end up finding more than they could ever have dreamed.
To say this is a spectacular show full of glitz is to understate the international hit that features show-stopping production numbers and a hit parade of dance-floor favorites including “It’s Raining Men,” “Shake Your Groove Thing,” “MacArthur Park,” “I Love the Nightlife,” “Boogie Wonderland,” and “I Will Survive.” It also features over 500 dazzling, 2011 Tony Award-winning costumes worn by the stars and ensemble. It is based on Stephan Elliott’s surprise hit 1994 movie that followed in the footsteps of the beloved La Cage Aux Folles, celebrating the beauty of individuality.
The show has been a phenomenon since its Broadway debut and its North American tour. Fans have been lining up at the stage door after performances across the country to let the cast know that they have embraced the “Be true to yourself” and “Live life to the fullest” themes portrayed in Priscilla.
Priscilla Queen of the Desert—The Musical is playing May 28 through June 16 at the Pantages Theatre at Hollywood and Vine.
