If you’re feeling hungry, Claim Jumper Burbank is the place to go.
As our charming server, Nancy, went to get the wine we ordered, we perused the menu. So many choices! The appetizer list was tempting, but knowing the restaurant’s reputation for hearty portions, we decided to show some restraint.
Burgers and sandwiches are available, but we proceeded to the more traditional dinner entrees, a sliced, roasted tri-tip served medium rare, and the grilled shrimp with papaya cilantro marinade served with rice. Both came with soup or house salad or Caesar and two sides.
The tri-tip was tender and flavorful; the shrimp, firm and crunchy with a slight kick. And the vegetables — wow! Flash-fried Brussels sprouts, drizzled with chipotle mayo were to die for; the herb asparagus grilled to perfection; and the roasted veggies, a combo of zucchini, yellow squash, carrots and onions — yummy. (I never thought I could get excited about something so healthy.) All items are listed with their calorie count. There was so much food we had to request to go boxes. So, of course, there was no room for dessert.
The “Almond Enjoy” caught our eyes—okay, we’ll share one. “Just a taste for me,” my friend said. Sure. A delightful concoction of Malibu rum, Godiva chocolate, vanilla ice cream, sliced almonds and coconut shreds and soon that glass was practically licked clean! Mmmmm….
