Tequila’s Cantina and Grill is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant serving traditional as well as out of the ordinary Mexican fare. They’re open seven days a week with Happy Hour daily from 4pm-7pm.

My friend and I walked in one night, pleased to find it was “Margarita Monday” where a good sized margarita (regular or fruit flavored) is only $3.50. Jackpot!

As soon as we were seated, we were presented with a bag of chips and salsa. My friend found the salsa to be a bit too spicy, while I loved it—loads of flavor. So the server brought him a warm green sauce, which he enjoyed. The menu offers plenty of choices without overwhelming.

Our entrée selections were steak fajitas, which arrived sizzling and rare, as ordered, and Camarones Cabo San Lucas, bacon wrapped shrimp served with rice and an array of fresh vegetables. The seven shrimp were plump and crunchy, and the veggies cooked perfectly. I would have preferred a little more kick to the guacamole, but it suited my guest to a tee.

We opted for doggie boxes, so we could share a flan for dessert. Yum. Topped with a dollop of whipped cream and resting on a light caramel sauce, it was the perfect finale to our ample dinner.

Tequila’s has been revamped, and the bar now boasts over 100 different kinds of tequila. There is Mariachi music every Friday night and different specials during the week.

You can now enjoy patio dining with margaritas and more at Tequilas. For more information and delivery options visit TequilasCantina.com or call (818) 845-7217.
