The event opens with the ever popular coronation of the Watermelon Queen, King and their court, with the 2014 National Watermelon Queen, Brandi Harrison.

New this year is the Watermelon Carving Competition. Celebrity Chef Joseph Poon returns, and celebrity judges include Chef Hiep Thi Li, carver Jim Morey, and Lisa Loring. Every admission includes free watermelon slices and a free spin on the Watermelon Wheel for additional prizes. Children’s admission includes a free pass to the petting farm or zoo. In addition to nightly prize cash drawings, there is a bazaar marketplace, carnival rides, and an array of festival food favorites. Added attractions include the Tromper’s of Eagle Rock’s car show.
