A Dog-Gone Fun Evening

Candy Spelling and Maddie.

Recently I was invited to Dee’s Flowers and Gifts in Studio City for their Annual Open House. I was delightfully surprised when I arrived to learn they were celebrating 65 years in the Valley. Walking into the store was like walking into a Christmas Wonderland. The store is loaded with hundred of decorations and unusual gifts galore for the upcoming holiday season. Adding to this was a crowd of customers and friends, who had gathered to meet and greet Candy Spelling, the special guest of the evening who was there to sign an unusual ornament designed and created for her by the well-known artist Michael Storrings here from New York who joined her at the table. Spelling is involved in a wonderful non-profit charity, called The Lange Foundation. It is dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned pets by helping to find homes for them. It was founded in 1993 and has saved thousands of animals that would have been destroyed by shelters. Spelling has been involved with the foundation for some time, and all profits from the sale of these special autographed ornaments will go to The Lange Foundation. Spelling has several rescued pets of her own and brought along “Maddie” a fluffy dog who charmed everyone attending this incredible evening.
