The new RAWkin’ Juice location vibes on the corner of Alameda and Evergreen, and boy are they ‘ever green!’ Partners in ‘lime,’ Steve Factor (Executive Chef) and Roberto Beteta Jr. (Business Executive), serve up music-themed juices such as, “The Beet Goes On” – beet, carrot, apple, and lemon; “Orange Smash” – orange, carrot, turmeric, lemon, lime, and ginger; and “Sweet Tunes” – apple, celery, cilantro, cucumber, kale, lemon, parsley, and zucchini. Utilizing the famed Auger Press, all juices and smoothies are served in glass bottles, with any added water originating only from natural springs.
“Welcome to my dream”, says Steve, who orchestrated their ‘music for your mouth’ slogan: “Eating raw, organic, and vegan, like music, has the power to raise your vibration, allowing you to be more of who and what you are – love, light, and energy.” Under the tutelage of Steve (a Whole Foods Market nutritional instructor, AKA ‘Pure Energy Chef’, and winner of Sedona’s Best of Raw Coach of the Year), Roberto credits his fifty-seven pound weight loss to being a RAWkin’ customer himself.
While the juices alone may ‘a peel’ to some, also on the menu is a veritable Lollapalooza of smoothies, such as “Banana Song” – banana, dates, vanilla, sunflower seeds, mango, pumpkin seeds, and spring water; and “Hemp Notes” – hemp seeds, mango, banana, kale, parsley, dates, spirulina, chlorella, and spring water. A meal in themselves, the growls of my empty stomach were calmed and quieted by only a cup of the satisfying nectar.
For mouth musicians who favor using a (tuning) fork, RAWkin’ Juice also serves “Zughetti Marinara” – zucchini noodles, topped with marinara sauce made from sugar plum tomatoes, red bell pepper, sundried tomatoes, mushroom, garlic, basil, green onions, olive oil, lemon, apple cider vinegar, oregano, coconut nectar, crushed red pepper, and sea salt.
RAWkin’ Juice, located at 4201 West Alameda Ave., Burbank, CA, is open 7am-8pm daily. For more information, call (818) 859-1002 or visit www.rawkinjuice.com.
