Rain postponed last weekend’s yard sale at the famous Hope residence at 10346 Moorpark St. at the corner of Moorpark Street and Ledge Avenue. The sale is scheduled to go on this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A large collection of holiday decorations, wall art, furniture, gifts, and other items, many owned by the famous comedian and his wife, singer Dolores Hope, will be offered for sale. Bob Hope died in 2003 at the age of 100; Dolores Hope died last year at 102.
The sale precedes a Julien’s Auctions event scheduled for next year for other Hope archives to be sold, and the impending sale of the house.
According to sources, several potential buyers have already made offers for the property. Zillow.com gives the house a bargain “Zestimate” value of $3.5 million. It features eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms in almost 15,000 square feet on an 87,000 square foot lot.
