The Associates of Brand Library and Art Center, together with the City of Glendale Library, Arts and Culture Department, is sponsoring an exclusive Gala this Saturday, March 22, 6-10 p.m., to celebrate the re-opening of the renowned Brand Library. “Brand New!” takes place at the Library address, 1601 W. Mountain Ave.
This fabulous Gala promises to be the social event of the year for Glendale as the long-awaited restoration and rehabilitation of the Historic Brand Library and Art Center is now complete and ready for its public debut.
Guests will be treated to delicious hors d’oeuvres, smooth specialty cocktails, and the sounds of live jazz.
The 1904 Brand Mansion (Library) has been restored to much of its original splendor recalling the days when Leslie Coombs Brand, known as “the father of Glendale,” lived there with his wife Mary Louise. The 1969 addition (The Art Center) has also been rehabilitated and a new Entry Pavilion and a plaza have been added to link the two buildings together.
The official ceremonial ribbon cutting for the opening of the Library is Thursday, March 27, at 10:30 a.m. An Open House for the public is set for Sunday, March 30, from noon to 4 p.m.
Tickets for the Brand New! Gala can be purchased at Glendale Arts. Ticket price is $125 and tickets will not be available at the door.
