In today’s world, we hear so many stories about teens in trouble, families torn apart through drug abuse, and more. It was so refreshing for me to have the opportunity to meet an incredible talented young man of only seventeen (going on twenty-five!). His name is Drake Kemper, and at his young age, he has already lost four family friends to cancer, all under the age of twenty. He now is very involved with a wonderful Charity Group and he has been asked to be the Emcee for this year’s event. It’s called “Kids 4 Kids” 4th Annual 5K Run/walk event which benefits The Children’s Cancer Research Fund (CCRF). This takes place on Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Century City. Drake has a heart of gold, and has given lots of time and energy in helping to make this an outstanding event. They even have a free chartered bus available leaving Toluca Lake at 8:00 a.m. on the 26th and returning at 2:00 p.m., so he’s asking local neighbors and friends to join and take part in this special day. Lots of celebrities and special guests will be there, such as Emma Roberts, actress, sports figure from the Los Angeles Lakers, Jordan Farmar, and more. Last year over 2,200 people joined in the run/walk and they raised over $466,000! Please RSVP to Drake at: firstname.lastname@example.org no later than April 20, 2009. The cost is only $10.00 under 18 yrs, and $25.00 over 18. For more information and program details, go to www.ccrf-kids.org, or call the CCRF at 310-207-5330. Hope to see you there!
