The Burbank Noon Kiwanis Club is holding their 12th Annual Gala at Lakeside Golf Club on Saturday, August 8th at 6:00 p.m. This event has raised over half a million dollars for local charities, including the Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Center, the Boys and Girls Club, Burbank High School Music Programs and Key Club, Habitat for Humanity, the Burbank YMCA, the Boy Scouts, the Burbank Community Dental Clinic, the Sunshine Kids Foundation, and many others. The theme of this year’s Gala is Country Western, and should be a rip-roaring good time with individuals and local business leaders gathering to honor a member of their community who has dedicated himself to serving others.
This year’s Gala will honor Patrick Wayne, son of screen legend John Wayne and Chairman of the Board of the John Wayne Cancer Institute, which is committed to leading-edge cancer research and education. Patrick also serves on the board of the Sunshine Kids Foundation, which provides exciting group activities for children with cancer.
The emcee for the evening’s festivities is G.W. Bailey, widely recognized for his portrayal of Captain Harris in the “Police Academy” film series, Sgt. Rizzo on “M.A.S.H.,” and currently as Lt. Provenza on TNT’s hit television series “The Closer.” Mr. Bailey is also the Executive Director of The Sunshine Kids Foundation.
The evening will feature dinner, entertainment, live and silent auctions, a reverse opportunity drawing, and more.
