Hanks,Wilsonserve as honorary chairs/guest hosts for Sept. 7–9 event
After a year’s sabbatical that allowed for the completion of the new CulturalCenteron the Cathedral grounds, the L.A. Greek Fest is back! Hollywood’s favorite superstar couple Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson will once again serve as honorary chairs and celebrity guest hosts of this year’s “14th Annual Festival Extravaganza.”
This year’s event will featureGreece’s hottest singing sensation, Thanos Petrelis, direct fromAthens. Thanos will be showcased in two special performances on Saturday and Sunday evenings. It’s a “Passport to a Grecian Holiday” for everyone inLos Angelesto enjoy and appreciate.
The festival’s Passport to a Grecian Holiday theme allows guests to “celebrate the magic and enchantment ofGreece.” Concession booths will spotlight Greek food specialties to stimulate a culinary fantasy with the dining pleasures of exotic Hellenic destinations. It’s a weekend of great food, music, and dancing.
The Fest and Cathedral are located at1324 S. Normandie Ave.(corner of Pico and Normandie). Free and secure parking will be available nearby and shuttle service will be offered continuously to satellite lots. The Fest runs 5–11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7; Saturday, Sept. 8, 1–11 p.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 9, 12–10 p.m.
Admission is free to everyone on Friday night and $3 for adults on Saturday and Sunday. Kids under 12, military personnel, and first-responders will be admitted free of charge.
