It was a fantasy time warp as ‘80s music icons and a ‘60s sex symbol mixed it up to win the affection (and charity dollars) of local club goers in Studio City recently. The Talent Plan Company’s celebrity impersonators hit the stage at Oil Can Harry’s nightclub to raise money and awareness for AIDS WALK 2012 and partner Valley Community Clinic.
A radiant-in-red Mistress of Cermonies Kassandra Carroll as Marilyn Monroe introduced a dead-on Boy George look-a-like in VCC’s Kevin Weiler who ably performed Culture Club’s 1983 smash “Karma Chameleon.” He was followed by the ambitious “Eddie” as both Janet and Michael Jackson in an amazing on-stage transformation and performance. Finally, a very believable Holly as Madonna was the show’s “Lucky Star.” A surprise encore finale by Cher-Javier asCherturned back time with the apropos closing number “Take Me Home.”
If you were unable to attend the event but want to make a donation, please contact Kevin Weiler, the clinic’s Prevention Services Director at (818) 763-1718 ext. 361 or firstname.lastname@example.org. For 40 years, Valley Community Clinic has assisted the San Fernando Valley by providing high quality, culturally sensitive primary medical care and related healthcare services to those in need, regardless of their ability to pay.
