His company is the only game in town that produces an Oscar suite that lasts four days. When you arrive at his suite at the L’Ermitage Hotel, you’re treated as if you were a guest in his Huntington Beach home and not just another writer covering the Beverly Hills circuit.

For the past 15 years, Roger Neal and his wife Lynn have been hosting Oscar events. That’s why he was able to convince American Idol’s newest judge, Steven Tyler, to not only attend, but to strip his stage makeup for a facial, when his schedule is tight. Although this is a Ma and Pa operation, it’s as elegant as it gets.

“This is more of a pampering than a gifting suite. Let’s face it; it’s a tough week. My suite is designed for VIPs to unwind, and at the same time ready themselves for Oscar activities,” Neal says.

“It’s wonderful to see you, Sue. Come on in and make yourself at home,” says Lynn, a former model.

GM Collin sponsored the celebration. Tyler, whose trademark youthful looks are part of his appeal, believes in primping on a regular basis. Besides receiving a Photo Stem Cell Facial, he opted for an eyelash application and promised to wear them on Idol for the next two shows. The glam king rocker also had a BAO of Beverly Hills Chinese foot massage and reflexology. He brought long-time girlfriend, Erin Brady, who took advantage of being the musician’s “plus-one.”

Visiting from GM Collin headquarters in Montreal, Karen Asquith, National Training Director, says, “Everyone is concerned about anti-aging. Our facials, which are plant based, diminish fine lines and wrinkles. The skin makes a complete transformation.”

Her most sought after facialist was San Diego resident Tony Laca, who drove in to assist.

“I love making people feel and look beautiful,” Tony says.

The party also had its Black Swan moment. A one-of-a-kind purse, in the shape of a glittery black swan, was designed by celebrity handbag designer Timmy Woods. She was inspired by Natalie Portman’s Oscar-winning performance.

Angela Bassett, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Francesco Quinn and Sofia Milos were guests. Vivian Duan, celebrity tea ceremony master, served Lady Snow Tea after their spa treatments.

The festivities honored the charity OneMama, with a $15,000 donation. OneMama, founded by ShaBoom Cosmetics creator Shibhan Neiland, helps impoverished women in Uganda, Africa deliver babies safely and receive proper medical care. Neiland returned from Africa where she spent a few weeks helping the women.

“I brought back African print dresses that I sell. Each dress saves 10 lives,” Neiland says. The colorful native ware was displayed on a terrace of L’Ermitage.

Besides beauty treatments, celebrities received gifts from Timmy Woods Beverly Hills handbags, Victoria Principal Secret Reclaim skincare, Crow Watches of Mill Valley, Hansen Cakes Beverly Hills, My Dream Bag Boutique, GM Collin Skincare, Amyn Jeweler on 7th, ShaBoom Cosmetics and Moreno Champagne, served by Jesse Damron of Ocean Bar Services. Designer Shekhar Rahate loaned gowns for Oscar events. Celebrities also received trips to Belleek Castle in Ireland, Private Villa Party and Baby Rock Club & Entertainment Complex in Baja and Hotel Cheval in Paso Robles, CA.

Neal designed the marketing campaigns for Stuart Weitzman, Kwiat Diamonds, Jelly Belly and Natalie K Diamonds.
