The Seaside Highland Games will be fielding their 15th straight festival on Saturday and Sunday, October 14 and 15, at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.

No fewer than four Clan Societies have made arrangements to hold their annual general meetings at the games this year and two Societies will be bringing Clan Chiefs to be honored as “Special Guests of the Games.” The Clans are Campbell, MacLaren, Morrison and Ross—with MacLaren and Morrison bringing their Chief. A special Chief’s Dinner has been planned for this occasion at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Ventura Beach and all are invited to attend.

There will be 70 Clans and Societies on the field plus a Children’s Glen, Highland and Scottish Country Dancing, bagpipe bands at every turn and the must-see massive athletes—the Highland Heavies—with their awesome strength.

Competitions in dance, bagpipes and drums, drum majors, fiddles and harps will take place, plus there will be music, Celtic vendors, authentic food and beverages and even British cars on hand.

Noon on Saturday is the Grand Parade and Opening Ceremonies when the Clans and the bands will parade for festivalgoers’ inspection. As they say in the Highlands, come to the Seaside Games—you will nae regret it!
