The Studio City Chamber’s 14th Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Festival


Every year it gets more spectacular. So this year’s Fourth of July Fireworks Festival, organized by the Studio Cit Chamber of Commerce on theCBSStudioCenterlot, is expected to be the best ever!

“It’s a great celebration for everyone to come together to enjoy Independence Day. There’s going to be fabulous entertainment, food, fun for the whole family, and of course, spectacular fireworks,” says Esther Walker, executive director of the Studio City Chamber of Commerce and director of the event. All the party planning has been done, so everyone attending can just come and enjoy. It’s great for families, couples, or groups of friends looking to have a good time in a fun location.CBSStudioCenterhas been home to such hits as Gilligan’sIslandand Seinfeld, and is currently home to CSI New York and Parks and Recreation, to name just a few shows that have filmed on the lot.

Festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. and go until 9:30 p.m., with the fireworks as the grand finale.

Petty Theft, a tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, will be rocking the main stage, along with Rhythm Section, and ARC Handbell Choir. Josh Rubenstein, chief meteorologist for CBS2/KCAL9, will be hosting, and the National Anthem will be played by renowned saxophonist Ed Smart.

Entertaining in the air conditioned VIP Room will be the Grammy-winning Pete Anderson Trio, along with sampling stations, gourmet BBQ dinner, and a children’s activity area.

There will be a magic show with world class magicians Ariann Black and Brandon Scott ready to thrill and amaze the crowds. There will be Pirates courtesy of Mutiny Magazine and Studio City Tattoo, featuring music from Mister Mac, the Dunk-a-Pirate (or Mermaid) game, and free pictures. Arrrrgh!

The festival includes a kids Fun Zone with inflatable rides, model planes from  Blacksheep Exhibition Squadron, and great cars from the Television Motion Picture Car Club. Food can be purchased or you can bring your own. Of course, there’s always the informative Business Expo.

This year’s charity is The Children’s Tumor Foundation, an organization that raises funds to fight neurofibromatosis, a disease that affects one in 3000 children.
