That was you running in the marathon
That was my daughter and me cheering you on
That was your sister, your brother, your mother, your father
That was your son, your daughter, your best friend
That was someone you love, someone who loves you
That was a child, an 8-year-old child
That was an American, a tourist
That was senseless and cowardly
That was evil and malicious and done out of hate
That was an attack on innocence, on happiness
That was heartbreaking
That was something that sets politics aside and unites us as Americans
And some can’t stand that
That was an attack on US, on U.S.
Today in Boston … in Los Angeles … in New York … in Miami … in the United States….
