Dear Tolucan Times,

0

I am new resident to Toluca Lake. As most people who happen to find themselves so lucky to live here, I have already adopted a great deal of pride about the neighborhoods, the clean streets, and the quality of life. But it’s apparent that the Tolucan Drivers, like drivers in all parts of the city, are blind when it comes to cyclists and their rights on the road.
The relevant vehicle codes for motorists to know about regarding cyclists’ legal right to the road are: 21200.  (a) Every person riding a bicycle upon a highway has all the rights and is subject to all the provisions applicable to the driver of a vehicle by this division 21202. A. Any person operating a bicycle upon a roadway at aspeed less than the normal speed of traffic moving in the same direction at that time shall ride as close as practicable to the right- hand curb or edge of the roadway:

Could you please publish these codes as an educational service? On a daily basis, I am cut off, yelled at, harassed, and sometimes assaulted by a motorist in their vehicle (assault with a deadly weapon) because apparently those motorists don’t believe cyclists have any right to be on the road.
