Originally from Port Rowan in Canada, Tia McGraff’s heritage is unusual – Scottish and Transylvanian. With those roots in her blood, how can her music be described any better than haunting?
Making music and taking part in theatre since childhood, McGraff moved to Nashville in 1999 to pursue her dreams. Shortly afterward, she was introduced to Tommy Parham, a guitarist and musician who would have a great impact on her life, musically and personally. They began writing songs—literally and figuratively making beautiful music together—and in 2006 they were married.
McGraff’s incredible songwriting skills and stellar vocals together with Parham’s masterful musical production have created her latest album, Crazy Beautiful, a follow-up to her 2013 CD Break These Chains.
With a touch of Celtic folklore, including the hauntingly melancholic sound of the fiddle, full lush-sounding vocal harmonies, acoustic guitar and bass slide guitar, McGraff also shows the gentle and not–so-gentle side of her voice.
Recorded in Austin, Nashville and Canada, this 13 track album features Grammy Award-winning musicians and engineers.
With six international CD releases, four videos on CMT Canada, various film and TV appearances, numerous nominations and awards (including the 2010 Hamilton Music Award), and a global fan base, McGraff has earned respect from the music industry. She describes her music as “Americana Style” and is living her passion by traveling and meeting fans.
