Composer Michel Legrand dies at 86

Oscar and Grammy Award winner Michel Legrand died in Paris on January 26 at age 86. He remained active until his death and had concerts scheduled to take place in the spring.

Legrand was a composer, songwriter and pianist, and created some of the most notable scores for many classic films (The Summer of 42, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg) and songs including “The Windmills of Your Mind,” “I Will Wait For You” and “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?”
