Sandra J. Heidt of Sherman Oaks

Sandra J. Heidt, known to friends and family as “Sandi,” passed away on May 16, 2018 at the age of 73. Born on August 23, 1944 in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, Sandi was a resident of Sherman Oaks for nearly 40 years.

Sandi began her career as a receptionist, working for Alfred Bloomingdale of Bloomingdale’s Department Store. She was also a regional sales manager for Hertz Rent-a-Car. Later, she worked alongside her husband Horace at Horace Heidt’s Magnolia Estates in public relations.

Sandi was also a philanthropist, devoting her time to organizations including the Motion Picture Mothers, the Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters and the Assistance League of Southern California. She loved her family and friends, spending time at the beach, shopping with her daughter Monica and visiting Hawaii.

Sandi was a generous and devoted wife and mother, with a golden heart. Her warm and friendly personality drew people to her, and she made friends wherever she went.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Horace H. Heidt; her daughter, Monica Adaline (25); parents Norma and Robert Yeaton; sister Patricia (Roy) Jackson, brothers-in-law Jack (Mary Ann) Heidt, Gerald (Jan) Heidt and sister-in-law Hildegarde Heidt. She was an Auntie to Eric (Amy) Jackson, Evan (Janet) Jackson, John (Donna) Heidt, and Ann (Steve) Sebastian; Great Auntie to Kiara Jackson, Taylor (Giuseppe) Bellacetin, Jared Jackson, Emma Jackson, Trinity Jackson, Tala Jackson, Gregory (Emily) Heidt, Rachel (Ryan) Crowley, Julie Heidt, Jonathan Sebastian, Katherine Sebastian, and Christopher Sebastian; Great-great Auntie to George Heidt, Isabell Joy Heidt, and Lauren Crowley; She also leaves behind her beloved dogs, BB and Chaucer.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2:30pm, at the Hall of Liberty, 6300 Forest Lawn Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90068. A viewing will be held on Wednesday night, May 30, from 5pm to 9pm. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association.
