Tom LaBonge News
Greetings! Six Hollywood Hills neighborhood groups held a Save Cahuenga Peak rally/bake sale with Tom at Lake Hollywood Park this Saturday, April 10. Thank you to everyone who is pitching in to help.
Tom is working with the Trust for Public Land to raise $12.5 million to obtain the peak, 138-acres of open space just west of the Hollywood sign, to expand Griffith Park. Over $9.6 million has come in so far. We need to raise the remaining $2.9 million by the fast-approaching April 14th deadline to protect this pristine vista from development. For more information on this important campaign, visit www.savehollywoodland.org.
Thank you to the following neighborhood groups for their generous contributions to the effort to Save Cahuenga Peak:  Argyle Civic Association;  Beachwood Canyon Neighborhood Association;  Cahuenga Pass Property Owners Association;  Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council; Hollywoodland Homeowners Association;  Los Feliz Improvement Association;  Mount Olympus Property Owners Association; Oaks Homeowners Association; Spaulding Square Neighborhood Association.
Tom will co-sponsor the East Valley YMCA’s annual Healthy Kids Day at North Hollywood Park on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 10am-2pm.
Big Sunday, a citywide Day of Service established in 1999 at Temple Israel of Hollywood, will be held this year on the weekend of May 1 and 2.  Eight great Big Sunday projects are happening this year in Council District 4.
