BURBANK

“America — A Patriotic Concert” and Picnic Dinner
The Friends of Music, at Burbank First United Methodist Church, proudly presents “America ~ A Patriotic Concert” and picnic.
Director Roger Lamb has put together an inspirational program of both choral works, groups, duos, and solo artists. As we begin the week that celebrates our country’s birth, our music is guaranteed to have you cheering the red, white, and blue! The Chancel Choir will be performing a selection of songs that take us from a salute to all the military branches to the Civil War’s Battle Hymn of the Republic. From jazz to gospel to folk, there is something for everyone. Blessed with a talented choir of professional and amateur singers, the solo selections will range from memories of World War II to “God Bless America” to patriotic recitation.

Admission for the recital is $20 per person or $35 for two. Students from kindergarten to high school are $5 each and there is no charge for preschool age. The ticket price includes an old fashioned church picnic after the concert with Southern Fried Chicken, baked beans, cole slaw, watermelon, rolls, lemonade, and an ice cream sundae bar. The entire event is a fundraiser for The Friends of Music at Burbank First United Methodist Church.

Throughout the year they are able to present concerts with the highest quality of musicianship and performance to the community, mostly at no charge. Funds raised at this concert will enable the Friends of Music to continue this mission. Free childcare is available for toddlers and infants.
