Night of 100 Stars Gala: Celebrating the 81st Annual Academy Awards

On Oscar Sunday, the Beverly Hills Hotel’s Crystal Ballroom will once again provide the venue for the arrival of approximately 150-200 Academy stars who will attend the hottest celebrity Awards party in town with even bigger names than last year.
Norby Walters, veteran music agent, reprises his role as Producer and Dinner Chairman. The formal sit-down dinner viewing party has always included past Oscar winners and nominees who will return to pay tribute to this year’s favorite Award nominees.
Arrivals will begin at 4 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2009. Call for tickets only at (310) 446-5416. Media desk will open at 2 PM and you must be in place by 3:30 PM. Red carpet press event only.  

National Pancake Day

IHOP, one of America’s favorite restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, has announced plans to serve millions of free pancakes in celebration of National Pancake Day on February 24, 2009. The celebration is designed to bring together friends and family, as well as to raise one million dollars for Children’s Miracle network, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children’s hospitals, and other worthy causes.
2009 will mark IHOP’s fourth year of celebrating the national event, and nearly 1,400 IHOP restaurants throughout the United States will once again invite guests to enjoy a free short stack of IHOP’s signature buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. In return, IHOP guests are asked to donate what they would have paid for the free pancakes, or more, to their local children’s hospital or another worthy cause.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarship Program

Ronald McDonald House Charities in Southern California, in partnership with the McDonald’s Operators’ Association of Southern California, will continue its’ commitment to educating by awarding $304,000 in scholarships through four programs to eligible graduating high school seniors who reside and attend school in Southern California’s five-county area and demonstrate academic achievement, leadership skills and community involvement. The money awarded may be applied toward tuition, fees, room and board and/or other approved expenses. The application deadline is Friday, March 13 for all four scholarship programs.
Scholarship recipients are selected by advisory boards consisting of educators, and community and civic leaders.
