LaBonge News
The Los Angeles Police Department arrested two juveniles as part of an ongoing investigation into the recent spate of muggings in the Silver Lake area. In a separate incident, two men who claimed to be Gas Company employees committed a home invasion robbery in Windsor Square on Friday. Police are aggressively following leads on that case as well. Councilmember Tom La Bonge encourages all residents of Council District 4 to remain aware of their surroundings when they’re out, and when they’re home, don’t open the door to strangers. To sign up for emails about recent police activity in your area, visit:   www.lapdonline.org/e_policing.
Our monthly clean-up in Griffith Park will be held tomorrow, if the weather holds. Please see the flier below. Meet Tom La Bonge at the north end of the Griffith Observatory Parking Lot at 8:30 a.m. if you want to work on the clean-up of Dante’s View. Remember to wear work clothes and gardening gloves, and stay home if it’s raining.
We’re holding another clean-up in North Hollywood on Saturday, Feb. 21st. See the attached flier. We hope you can join us.
The Los Angeles Public Library has extended its exhibit, L.A. Unfolded, until March 29th. This exhibit of historic and contemporary maps of Los Angeles is being held at the main branch downtown. Visit:  www.lapl.org for more information.
