“eLove, a Musical.com/edy”
Just in Time for Valentine’s Weekend
Who knew that when award-winning writer/director/performer Wayland Pickard was matched up with an old girlfriend through an online dating site, that it would result in a popular two-character musical, “eLove, a Musical.com/edy,” where love is just a mouse click away?
Having seen Bobbi Stamm and Lloyd Pedersen in Tony Tanner’s “2nd Thoughts” at the Group Rep, Pickard was blown away by their chemistry and sought them out to portray the cyber-struck lovers in the original cast of “eLove…”
With book, music and lyrics by Pickard, and additional lyrics by Sherry Netherland and Deborah Johnson, the musical has been enjoyed in productions around California including runs at NoHo Arts Center and the Victory Theatre Center, and was recently acquired for representation by Samuel French Publishing.
Sideways SmileyFace Productions (a partnership of Pickard, Pedersen and Stamm), in association with the Group Rep, brings “eLove, a Musical.com/edy” back to the Lonny Chapman Theatre for two special performances this Valentine’s Weekend, Saturday, February 13, at 3 pm and Sunday, February 14 at 7 pm. The production is directed and choreographed by Cate Caplin.
This delightful feel-good musical stars the original cast, Lloyd Pedersen and Bobbi Stamm, in a cyber-love story where two people searching for that “special online someone” discover that love on the internet reveals a little more than either one had expected.
Lonny Chapman Theatre is located at 10900 Burbank Boulevard, North Hollywood 91601. For reservations, call (818) 700-4878 or visit www.thegrouprep.com.
