Flappers Comedy Club and Restaurant, located in the heart of downtown Burbank, is having their special two-year Birthday Party on Sept. 7, 8, and 9; admission is free for this celebration! Headliners include Darren Carter the Party Starter, James P. Connolly, Michael Rayner, and several SURPRISE celebrity comics!

The club/restaurant was conceived by comedians Barbara Holiday and her partner Dave Reinitz who started a smaller venue of the same name in Claremont three years ago.

Why are they special? Barbara says, “Flappers is a great place for an evening of comedy. We have shows for all kinds of audiences … shows designed for seniors, the gay and lesbian community, family-friendly shows … shows for everyone!”

And it’s not just comedy. You want a nice place to eat? ”We call it ‘American Comfort Food,’” Barbara explains. “We have everything from chocolate chip cookies and milk, to huge burgers, pizza, steak, salmon, and gourmet meatloaf … great food! We added an amazing Gourmet Mac’N’Cheese that everyone seems to love.”

Do you have a special event? Barbara continues, “We can do birthday parties, gatherings, and even plan and customize shows for corporate events and holiday parties too.”

Come any night of the week Tuesday through Sunday and you might see some unannounced comedians, such as Charles Fleischer, Margaret Cho, Jennifer Coolidge, Bobcat Goldthwait, Rob Schneider, Paul Reiser, Caroline Rhea, Pauly Shore, Wayne Brady, Greg Proops, Carlos Mencia, Sarah Silverman, Dave Coulier, Eric Estrada, and more — they might just show up to test out their new material!

Barbara says, “The point of the Birthday weekend is it’s our chance to give back to the community and invite everyone to come and check us out — at no charge — and see for themselves how we brought laughter back to the Valley!”

With stages on the Patio, the Yoo Hoo Room, and the Main Stage, Barbara explains, “Flappers has a 1920s theme and our slogan is ‘Still celebrating the repeal of Prohibition.’ We have a comfortable, casual, friendly environment that includes a full restaurant and bar, multiple showrooms, patio and bar; it’s a great local place to hang out and work out your funnybone.”
