SHARE Presents 57th Annual Boomtown Event
By Kat Kramer
Well folks, on Saturday June 5th, the fabulous, philanthropic ladies of SHARE are back and better than ever and will be at The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium hosting the 57th Annual “BOOMTOWN” event. Actress Jamie Lee Curtis will be honored with SHARE’s Shining Spirit Award. Ms. Curtis is the daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, was a longtime active member and one-time president of SHARE. Besides being an acclaimed actress, she is an author, humanitarian and philanthropist. There will be a guest performance by Tony and Grammy Award winning performer and the original “Dreamgirl” Jennifer Holliday. The theme of this year’s Gala is “SHAREGirls.” “The ladies of SHARE are thrilled to be honoring the multi-talented Jamie Lee Curtis, “states SHARE Chairman of the Board Joan Rush. “We anticipate this year’s star-studded evening will raise a record amount of money for our charities.” SHARE was founded in 1953 and since then has raised over $46 million to help at-risk youth, the developmentally disabled and the abused and to support research, prevention and vocational training and independent living skills program for children in need.
